Staying the course with nutrition is often the hardest part of a healthy lifestyle change. If you’re trying to lose weight, get this - nearly 80% of weight loss success is tied into proper nutrition. This week, we’re going to talk about what you can eat for breakfast to give you energy and support all that you do.

Breakfast is often referred to as the most important meal of the day. You handle serious amounts of work, social obligations, family needs, and sometimes you even get to your own needs in a day, so start the day off right with a recipe that’s sure to entice your taste buds and get your body ready to take on whatever comes your way!

Here’s an idea for the avocado toast lovers out there.

Open-Faced Power Breakfast

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup egg whites OR 6 egg whites

  • ¼ avocado, mashed

  • 1 small Roma tomato, sliced

  • 1 slice bread of choice (whole grain, gluten-free, rye, etc.)

  • Fresh ground pepper to taste

  • Sea Salt to taste

  • Hot sauce, if desired

Instructions:

  1. Coat small pan with coconut oil or olive oil cooking spray and add your egg whites. Let eggs set around edges and then begin to stir every few seconds, until eggs are barely set and still fluffy. Sprinkle with a dash of salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. Toast slice of bread, spread mashed avocado on toast, layer tomatoes and egg whites. Sprinkle sea salt and pepper and drizzle with a bit of hot sauce if you wish.

This power breakfast is not only easy to make, but also incredibly tasty! Next Sunday, we’ll talk about workouts you can do without even stepping into a gym.
