Stress Relief at Home Has Never Been Easier

If you want to try and relieve stress at home, then you have come to the right place. This guide will show you everything you can do to try and let go of that cortisol once and for all, so you can detach from everything that is going on around you. Take a look below to find out more.

Do Some Exercises

Did you know that fast bursts of movement are ideal if you are suffering from stress? If your heart is racing and if stress is making you feel jittery, then you will soon find that this is one of the best things you can do, in fact. You can do some jumping jacks, some sit-ups, or even some push-ups. When you do, you will be able to get your heart rate up and you may also find that you can help to activate some of those neurotransmitters too. This includes serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. These are all ideal at enhancing your mood, so try and make sure that you keep that in mind.

Be Tactile

If you feel as though you need to get out of your own head, then try and be tactile. Sometimes popping bubble wrap or even sorting through your change jar can help you to feel more present and grounded.  You may find that fidget toys help you as well. By activating your senses, you can help to get your mind away from stress and this will really work in your favor. If you do not feel as though you can escape your thoughts because your source of stress is at home, then there are things you can do here too. If you are caring for someone who has memory loss, then you can look into dementia rehabilitation. If you have kids, consider hiring a babysitter so you can go out and enjoy time with your friends or even your family.

Take a Bath

Run a bath and just let yourself sink into it. Studies have shown that if you can change your body temperature then this helps you to slow down on a sensory level. It can actually be compared to rebooting a computer. If you feel as though you have a lot of windows open in your mind, then this can cause you to become overwhelmed and this is the last thing you need. If you want to avoid this, then one thing you can do is try and get yourself unstuck by taking a bath or even a shower.

Take Up Knitting

If you quite like crafting, then you should know that knitting can be a meditative experience. There is evidence that supports the fact that people who have anxiety disorders can benefit from it as well. If you are new to the world of knitting, then you should know that there are many DIY tutorial videos out there, and this is a great way for you to try and learn everything you need to know about the stitches you should be doing and how they come into the bigger picture.
