Keep Moving! Fun Ways To Stay Active

As the festive season is in full swing and many are celebrating, enjoying time with loved ones, and winding down for the year; it can be all too easy to forget about remaining active, and looking after your physical health. However, in order to make the most of all those social get-togethers and festivities, you need to make your physical health a priority. You don’t want to feel lethargic, or worse, unwell, during what’s meant to be the happiest time of year, so there’s a little motivation for you…

Fortunately, there are so many fun ways to stay active, boost those happy hormones, and ensure that you’re keeping fit and healthy without even realizing! Phew! Therefore, it’s time to think about some little (or major) changes you can make so that your health is your priority for the rest of the year, all of next year, and moving forward throughout your life. You just need to know how to incorporate the exercise so that it complements your lifestyle and suits your needs. The following are some ideas and inspiration for anyone looking to boost their physical activity, without it feeling like a chore.

A New Class

There is no better time to start, or try, something completely new. Think of all those things you’ve seen and thought “I’d like to give that a go”. Well, get on that search engine and find yourself a class and a local venue so that you can enjoy a fresh start. A class setting is always great for momentum and motivation; you’ll make new friends, and hve some time yourself each week, or whenever it runs. This will trickle down into the rest of your life, as you keep up with practice and crave the boost the exercise gives you. So, whether you head to the TCHI, the local swimming pool, or the tennis court; get started before the new year so that you’re in full swing and having fun as you launch into January! 

Around the House

Household tasks and chores are never much fun, and, if you struggle with the motivation to exercise; you could combine the two in a fun way and have a much brighter 2023 as a result. Add music and dance to your cleaning routines; make yourself the ultimate motivational playlist and turn-up the tunes as you move your body. Give yourself a time limit on each task so that you’re working your body that little bit quicker each time. Not only will you be gaining the physical exercise you need, you’ll be doing the housework far more quickly too! 

Fresh Air 

Do not let the weather put you off getting out and about in the fresh air, daily. There’s so much beauty in the change in seasons; therefore, pick your favorite park or nature spot, and start walking. Make a note of how far you can go in half an hour, or pick a distance and time yourself; you’ll be amazed how much your progress as your fitness level changes. Even if you're heading to grab your favorite cup of takeout coffee; ensure you go the scenic route and get your steps in every day to make sure that body is moving, for a happy healthy lifestyle.
